Centella asciatica has been used as a medicinal herb for at least 2000 years in India, Indonesia, and China. The plant is a perennial herbaceous creeper that grows in swampy areas.
The primary active constituents are saponins, which contribute towards active wound healing and vascular effects by inhibiting collagen production at the site of wounds.
